Stefani C. O'Connor, Editor-in-Chief at Questex Hospitality Group, is an award-winning journalist. She brings more than 20 years’ industry experience to Hotel Management. Most recently, O’Connor served as Executive News Editor at Hotel Business magazine as well as Managing Editor of the magazine's National Executive Roundtable Series, which, with support of such partners as The Wall Street Journal, brought together executives from the hospitality arena and allied businesses to discuss current issues of importance. Prior to joining Hotel Business, O'Connor was Senior Editor at Business Travel News and previous to that was Editor-in-Chief of Hotel & Resort Industry magazine.
O’Connor also has brought her expertise to numerous venues, serving as a panelist and moderator across a range of national conferences, including the New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, Hunter Hotel Investment Conference, The Lodging Conference and the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers (NABHOOD) Summit.
Andrew Hartley is a senior consultant for CBRE Hotels’ Consulting based in the New York City office. With more than 10 years in the hospitality industry, he has provided market and financial services for all types of real estate projects and specializes in market and financial feasibility analysis for projects that include hotels and conference centers, non-branded boutique hotels, oil- and gas-related hotels and luxury hotels throughout the Northeast and South Central region of the United States.
Hartley previously was a consultant with PKF Consulting USA, which was acquired by CBRE in 2014 and also has served as an assistant manager/trainer for the Hilton University of Houston.

Sandip C. Patel is CEO of Waldorf, Md.-based management company Crossroads Hospitality Inc., where he is responsible for management, development, acquisition, renovation, financing, franchising, insurance and human resources, and manages multiple properties in the Southern Maryland area. He also has served as developer/construction manager for several Maryland properties and oversaw the first franchised La Quinta Inn in the state for a decade as general manager.
A graduate of Embry Riddle University in Florida with a degree in aeronautical science, Patel is Washington, D.C. Regional Director for AAHOA, where he is a Lifetime Member. He also is a member of the Maryland Hotel Lodging Association and a Certified Hotel Administrator.
Thomas Penny III is president of Donohoe Hospitality Services, LLC, where he guides the operation of 11 hotels affiliated with IHG, Hilton and Marriott International. He is responsible for strategic planning, overall operational direction, development and acquisition of properties as well as long-term financial and capital planning.
Penny joined The Donohoe Companies in 1996. Prior to his current role, he served as general manager at DHS’ Courtyard by Marriott Convention Center, where he was responsible for oversight of the hotel’s day- to-day operations, guest-services training and strategic management of financial performance.
Previous to that, Penny was assistant GM at DHS’ Holiday Inn Capitol, where he shared responsibility for 250 employees and $40 million in annual operating revenues and served as the hotel’s guest-services culture leader.
Chip Ohlsson is EVP/Chief Development Officer, North America for Parsippany, N.J.-based Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc., where he is responsible for the development strategy for the global hotel chain’s 20 brands across North America, identifying and building strategic partnerships to position the company in new markets and to optimize its presence in existing markets.
Ohlsson also is responsible for strengthening and expanding relationships with owners and ownership groups, including real estate investment trusts, developers and financial institutions with hospitality portfolios.
A 26-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Ohlsson has hotel financing and portfolio-management experience and previously served as VP/North American development at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Ohlsson also served at Wyndham’s predecessor, Cendant, where he oversaw sales, business development and financial management initiatives at an executive level.
